Nashoba Wins Again!!!
November 3rd 2009
The Nashoba Tech Cross Country team notched its second win of the season on Tuesday as it defeated Notre Dame of Lawrence 16-42. Nashoba nearly grabbed 2 wins on the day as it lost a nail-biter to Essex Aggy 25-32. Nashoba Senior Brandon Rouleau took the lead in the last mile and never gave it up. "I could see he was struggling on the down hills and knew I might be able to catch him. Once we hit the flat terrain, I made my move", said a happy Rouleau. Rouleau finished the grueling 3.1 mile trail course in just 20:00 flat. Team mate Dustin Richards wasn't far behind as he managed to grab third place for the Vikings in 21:12. While Essex Aggy came in bunches with the 2,4,5,and 6th runners, Christina Wetzel broke through for 7th over-all and the first female finisher. (21:48) EA grabbed the 8 spot, but NT answered with a strong performance by the confident Harrison Frye, who grabbed 9th. Nashoba Tech Wins!!!
October 26th 2009
The 2009 Nashoba Tech Vikings accomplished something that previous Viking teams had only dreamed about; they won! Behind some gutsy performances by six Nashoba runners, the Vikings were able to pull out a 25-30 victory over Whittier Tech. Perhaps the most satisfying aspect of the win is that every Nashoba runner played a large role in delivering the 'W'. Brandon Rouleau finished second to Whittier All-Star, Brian Stanley. Rouleau covered the 3.1 mile course in just 19:47. Dustin Richards grabbed 3rd in just 20:46. Christina Wetzel was, once again, the first female runner and forth overall in 20:55. Whittier's Paul Mahoney finished 5th, but Nashoba answered with senior Harrison Frye in the 6th position. (22:39). Just when it appeared Nashoba might run away with this, things got very interesting. Whittier answered with runners 7, 8, and 9. But Nashoba Freshman David Blood was not to be denied. Answering the challenge of his screaming teammates, Blood passed a Whittier runner in the final quarter mile to snatch 10th overall (25:56). Aiden Gillis, 12th overall, then out-kicked the final 3 Whittier runners to put the icing on the cake. Coaches McCloskey and Sullivan would like to congratulate all of the runners for their hard work and dedication in delivering this big win!

Wetzel easily beat the closest female runner in posting her fastest time ever, on her home course, with an impressive 18:35 and an overall forth place finish. Senior Harrison Frye (21:05) finished an impressive 8th for the Vikings who were short handed in the race. Junior Brian Callahan finshed as Nashoba's 4th runner (22:45). Freshman David Blood, 5th; 23:55. Senior Captain, Aiden Gillis 6th; 25:15. Jordan St. Cyr 7th; 30:25. Caleb Baker 8th; 30:32.
Nashoba Runners Show Guts Against Ayer
October 16th 2009
Though the highly touted Ayer Cross Country team defeated Nashoba on Friday afternoon, Nashoba showed tremendous perseverance and placed 3 runners into the top 10. Rouleau and Richards refused to be intimidated by Ayer's reputation as a Cross Country and Track powerhouse. Both senior boys ran well over a tough trail course on a day that saw snow falling earlier. Rouleau finished 4th in 20:31, Richarads finished 5th in 22:30. Christina Wetzel continued her dominance by defeating all of Ayer's girls with a 22:50 time and a 7th overall finish.
Nashoba Runners Push it to the Limit
October 14th 2009
Nashoba's cross country runners pushed themselves to the max in Wednesday's home meet versus Keefe Tech. Several of Nashoba's runners ran for personal bests in the very competitive 5K race. Brandon Rouleau rebounded in spectacular fashion from last week's disappointing loss to powerhouse, Parker. Rouleau shaved nearly a minute off his previous best time by finishing in 17:07 and a close second place to undefeated Keefe All Star Jose Morales. Said Rouleau, "I pushed myself harder than I ever have before; I felt light-headed, but I wanted to catch him."
In addition to Rouleau's record setting pace, Senior Dustin Richards finished in sixth with a personal best of 19:20. Christina Wetzel continued her winning ways, by finishing as the first female runner (7th overall) and in an impressive 20:01. Harrison Frye, back from a week lay-off, showed no signs of rust as he was Nashoba's 4th runner in the top ten. Frye finished in 21:29 and in 9th place overall. Junior Brian Callahan, fully recovered from an injury, grabbed Nashoba's 5th spot and 12th over-all. Freshman stand-out David Blood was Nashoba's 6th runner. Other impressive performances were turned in by vastly improved senior captain Aiden Gillis, who also posted a personal best of just over 23 minutes. Mike Richards finished strongly as did freshman Jordan St. Cyr, both of whom outkicked Keefe runners at the finish.
